Gospel of Peace Association
The Church of God, Gospel of Peace Association was officially established in November 1981. Prior to November, during the summer of 1981, a small number of our group members who had been called by God out of sin, requested that Elder Kilgore share with us the knowledge of God’s Word that has been revealed to him. In obedience to the scriptures, Elder Kilgore agreed. This group of about 12 individuals began to meet on a weekly basis (while still members of another religious organization) to be taught the unadulterated word of God.
Several months passed and the Lord continued to feed the group through Elder Kilgore the spiritual food needed to keep us in the way of righteousness.
In November 1981, the Holy Spirit inspired Elder Kilgore to call a ten day revival of fasting and prayer whereby we petitioned the Lord to show us the way to go. On November 15, 1981 The Gospel of Peace Association was established and founded when God spoke to our group through the scriptures, individually and collectively, telling us to separate ourselves from the religious organization of which we were members
The purpose of the separation was the we might continue in the teaching of the Word of God as revealed through the late Elder Lightfoot Solomon Michaux. This separation would also allow our group to be sanctified, that is, set apart from worldly ways of living and religious styles. In addition, our group was instructed through the Scriptures to carry the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world.
The Gospel of Peace Association was founded upon the Word of God, The King James Version of the Bible, and a holy standard or set of rules for daily living given by God through the teaching which was found by the late Elder Lightfoot Solomon and Sister Mary E. Michaux.
The work of the Gospel of Peace Association is done through an evangelistic team which carries the Gospel from place to place and to people as the Spirit of God leads.
The organization is currently under the leadership of Elder Alonzo Kilgore and his dear wife Sister Annette Kilgore, two God sent and dedicated leaders who continually serve others and labor in the Work and the Word of God
